Read the quote
If XAUUSD = 2,500, the quote describes USD 2,500 per troy ounce. A 0.01-lot CFD has one nominal ounce exposure, so a USD 1 price move produces roughly USD 1 gross P/L before costs. One full lot has 100-ounce exposure, so the same move produces USD 100 gross P/L.
Why lot and XAU get confused
ISO unit and broker contract both use gold quantities but at different scales. XAU is one ounce; the Exness contract specification defines one lot as 100 ounces. Always read contract size before applying a pip or risk formula.
